The glass, is the element with which we coexisted more in century XXI. It was accidentally discovered for more than 3500 years by Phoenician merchants who took merchandise of North Africa by all the Mediterranean Sea. Between the Lebanon and the present state of Israel is the Biblos River in which they stoppedto to supply potable water and in the beach on the sand they warmed up its foods on a comal of mud where they placed on rough stones of salts of nitro, in where they put a vegetal fuel like branches of some shrubs. Which was their surprise that after a time, they saw running on the sand threads of a shining material which previously they did not know. What happened? Since with the temperature of the combustion of the firewood on the sílica sand and with rough stones of sodium nitrate they managed to lower the temperature of fusion of 2000°C to 800°C and that when being united with remainders of marine shells that were in the beach, it formed a flux mass of rigid consistency managing to obtain therefore a double silicate of sodium and calcium. So great was their surprise when seeing those threads of crystalline material that when they returned, commented the incident with the Egyptians that was a very capable nation in work artisan, managing to begin to fuse sílicas sands and to give them to color and texture to form bottles for perfumes of great beauty, which they have been found in the tombs of some of their Pharaohs. It was until the beginings of the Christian Era that the Roman Empire discovered that through a metallic tube it would be possible to be coiled in the end doughy hot glass and blowning constantly within the amorphous mass giving it returned to be regulating the thickness of the final piece.
